William jones
It is though that the father of Richard Jones' (born in 1811) is William Jones. The only confirmed record of this is on the marriage certificate when Richard married his second wife Phoebe in 1870. On this document it shows Richard's father as William Jones - Shoemaker.
Apart from this, as yet, very little is known about William. The following facts may or may not relate to him:
1 In Slater's Directory of 1859 for Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, Monmouthshire, Shropshire & Wales, there is a William Jones list under Boot & Shoemakers for Little Drayton.
2 On the 1851 census, there is an entry for William Jones living and working in Market Drayton, the address is unclear but he is a Cordwainer. His wife is Mary, both are from Shropshire.
3 Bagshaw's Directory for 1851 has an entry for William Jones, Boot & Shoemaker in Little Drayton.
Research is now needed to prove that this is my 6 x Great Grandfather
1 When was he born and where?
2 Who was he married to?
3 How many children did he have?
4 When and where did he die?
As with the other members of this family, if anyone has anything they can help with, I would be thrilled to hear from them.
