Jane Craddock was born in 1828 and was baptized on the 3rd April 1828 in Market Drayton. On the 1841 census, Jane is aged 13 and with her family in Market Drayton.

At 61 Loom Street, Jane's father Samuel Craddock was also living here. His wife (Jane's mother) Phoebe had died 2 years earlier in Market Drayton. It is not known how long Samuel lived here with his brother Thomas and daughter Jane, but he died here on the 22 September 1853. Two years later, at this address, Thomas died in 1855.
On the 1871 census, Jane and William had moved to 32 Chapel Street, Manchester. William was a Silk and Cotton Warper and Jane was a Cotton Winder. In 1874 William died, and on the 1881 Jane is a widow, living at 3 Back Ravold Street, Manchester and still working as a Cotton Winder, she is still at the address on the 1891 census.
1901 census, Jane is living with her nephew, James Charles Davoll (the son of Jane's sister Harriet). Jane is still earning a living as a Cotton Winder and her nephew is working as a Bookkeeper.
It is still unclear when and where Jane died. Two death records have been located for Jane Mather: one for a death in the December quarter of 1904, one for a death in a Manchester workhouse, for June 1904, though on this record no first name is given, but the age would be right for Jane. As yet Jane's death as not been confirmed.
