Phoebe Craddock 1824 - 1875
Phoebe was born in 1824 in Market Drayton, and as yet no baptism record has been found for Phoebe.
In 1842, in Maer, Staffordshire, there was a baptism for a child named John Davol, parents William and Phoebe. At the time of the baptism, Phoebe was not married to William Davoll, the baby's father. There is a connection to Maer through her older sister Caroline's husband, Thomas Jackson, he was from Maer. Was Caroline living here when she first married Thomas, and so Phoebe, having family here had her baby and the baptism of that baby here in Maer?
Phoebe and William were married in Manchester on the 30th December 1846. Pheobe was now 22 years of age. Pheobe and William have yet to be found on the 1851 census, but on the 1861 census, they were living in Stone, Staffordshire. 1871 census found them here, and in 1876, Phoebe died in Staffordshire.
Phoebe and William had eight children:
John Davoll born 1842
Frederick William Davoll born 1850
William Henry Davoll born 1852
Charles Thomas Davoll born 1854 died 1924
Edwin Smith Davoll bron 1857
Annie J Davoll born 1860
Emily Davoll born 1862
Arthur George Davoll born 1868
The Davoll surname:
Is there a connection between Phoebe's husband and Harriet's husband? Both these girls married men with the surname Davoll. Although the spelling changes from census to census, it is not a common surname, so is it a coincidence or is there a connection?
